Food Additives Ban!

Last September, published in The Lancet, a study led by Professor Jim Stevenson concluded that the consumption of mixtures of additives including sunset yellow (E110), tartrazine (E102), carmoisine (E122), ponceau 4R (E124), allura red (E129) and sodium benzoate led to increased hyperactivity in children.

Scientists are calling for a ban on the above additives in our food. If this goes through, the food industry will see a major reformulation of many of their products including soft drinks.

I wouldn't like to be the one to say it but at least I was right to a certain extent about all the additives on our food. Health freak or not. I think with the amount of information available about food additives, one point is clear - they might be bad for our health.

The information is here. The choice is yours. Read this article regarding the ban.

In today's news, the UK's Foods and Standards Agency are pushing for a voluntary removal of the abovementioned additives. Here's the news article.
