Citrus Essential Oils - the new anti fungal for food

A new research from Spain suggests:

The essential oils from citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and limes can act as an all natural anti-fungal agents for food.

Now that makes me wonder.. does that mean my orange or lemon marmalade has natural preservative in them? And that means they will not go bad? Ever? Hm.. Interesting point for me to ponder. What do you think?
