And now I'm preparing a list..

What am I doing today? Well.. I'm getting all excited as my mates are visiting me this July in Croatia. A month-long vacation! Yipee!!! So of course, being the typical Singaporean, I'm busy typing a long list of items that I DEMAND from them to bring over from Singapore. My precious (in Lord of the Rings style)....

Have you ever imagined what food you'll miss the most when you are away from home? What would it be? Will be be a long list like mine? Or you just don't miss anything? Come and share it with us.

ECL.. what do you expect me to order???

The usual spices...like lemongrass, curry powder, etc. Very boring yeah? But I can't do without them!!

No Meat products can be brought into Croatia.

Hi Sher,

I'm not much for missing food. I can eat whatever is available anywhere as long as its edible. Whenever I get a chance in a big city, I go for gourmet dishes, or take the street food, or a small diner.

What I miss most when I'm away from home are the people I eat dinner with each night I'm there. Because whatever I eat, it is never as delicious as when I eat it with my loved ones. :-) --Durano, done!

SheR,

I never would have considered this question before I lived in America. There's certainly nothing in the UK or Ireland that I would miss.

However: I was born to eat Mexican food: chips and hot salsa, followed by a Pollo Fundido and frijoles and you'd have a phat happy Cyborg cutie pie:)

I also want to go Croatia! remember to make your friends bring chilli!! haha unless you wanna make your own batch of spicy sauce. I never leave Singapore without chilli (at that point, Macdonald's garlic chilli suffices)

Actually, I can get most of the stuff that I want in London though they're more expensive.

Hmm... what I really need are the services that I cannot get from London. i.e. yearly health checkup, dental checkup, getting a new pair of specs, watching lots of movies at a ridiculously cheap price... just to name a few.

>>CK.. I know you can get most of the stuff in London at a much higher price and not as good. Cos at home, my mum will shop for the best Ikan Bilis for me! :)

Dental checkup.. that's what I need! Hee.. actually I'm not missing too much. NHS covered my hospital and surgery costs last time I was injured. So I'm not complaining! I love the system. Imagine how much for a skin graft surgery in SG. I'll be injured in pain and broke too!!

I can cook Chicken Rice here. No probs. :) I have all the ingredients so I'm not missing that much. Char Kway Teow.. Yumms. That's something I would love to have. BTW, I should just send my mum over. I miss everything she cooks! The best Soy Sauce Duck in the world!

Yes I've seen those cups in PH. I can't carry 100s of them back to Croatia. Ha.. need to find an importer. Anyway, I need my Glucose for chocolate moulding so I got them to bring over a bottle for me. Ever tried that dear?

>> Shutter buggie.. I guess Singaporeans and Malaysians are pretty much the same when we stepped out of our homelands and live in a foreign land. We are so similar in culture and all. :)
